Tips & Best Practices
Download Stories Quickly
Instagram Stories disappear after 24 hours. If you want to save a story, download it as soon as possible before it expires.
Reels vs Posts Quality
Instagram Reels are typically available in higher quality (up to 1080p) compared to regular posts. Choose Reels format when available for better quality.
Carousel Posts
For carousel posts (multiple images/videos), you'll need to get the link to each individual video separately. Swipe to the video you want and copy its specific link.
Private Accounts
You can only download content from public Instagram accounts or accounts you follow (if the content is accessible to you).
Credit the Creator
If you share downloaded Instagram content elsewhere, always credit the original creator. It's good etiquette and respects their work.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
"Content unavailable" or "Private account"
This means the Instagram account is private or the content has been deleted. You can only download content from public accounts or accounts you have access to. Ask the account owner to make their account public or share the content directly with you.
Story link not working
Instagram Stories have temporary URLs that expire after 24 hours. Make sure you're downloading the story while it's still active. Also, ensure you're copying the complete story URL, not just the profile URL.
Only getting images, not videos
Make sure the post actually contains a video and not just images. In carousel posts, swipe to the specific video slide before copying the link. Each slide in a carousel has its own unique URL.
Lower quality than expected
Instagram compresses videos when they're uploaded. The quality you can download depends on the original upload quality. Reels typically maintain better quality than regular posts. If the creator uploaded in lower quality, that's the maximum quality available.
Respect Content Creators
When downloading Instagram content, please respect the rights of content creators:
- • Only download content for personal use
- • Don't repost downloaded content without permission
- • Always credit the original creator if sharing
- • Respect Instagram's Terms of Service
- • Don't use downloaded content for commercial purposes without permission
