How to Download X/Twitter Videos

Find the Tweet with Video

Navigate to X.com and find the tweet containing the video you want to download. This can be from your timeline, a profile, search results, or a direct link someone shared with you.

Note: X videos can be in tweets, replies, quote tweets, or threads. The download process is the same for all types.

Copy the Tweet URL

Get the link to the specific tweet:

On Desktop:

  • • Click on the tweet to open it in full view
  • • Copy the URL from your browser's address bar
  • • Or click the share icon and select "Copy link"

On Mobile App:

  • • Tap the share icon (arrow pointing up)
  • • Select "Copy link" from the menu
  • • The tweet URL is now in your clipboard

Paste in MvDowloader

Visit MvDowloader.site, paste the X/Twitter URL into the input field, and click "Get Video". The system will automatically detect it's an X post and extract the video.

Select Quality & Download

X videos are typically available in multiple quality options. Choose your preferred quality and click download. The video will be saved to your device.

Common quality options: 720p (HD), 480p, 360p, and 240p. Higher quality videos may not always be available depending on the original upload.

Tips for Downloading X Videos

Videos in Threads

If a video is part of a thread, make sure to copy the link to the specific tweet containing the video, not just the first tweet in the thread.

GIFs vs Videos

X treats GIFs as short videos. You can download them the same way as regular videos. They'll be saved as MP4 files.

Live Videos and Spaces

You can only download videos after a live stream or Space has ended. Active live content cannot be downloaded.

Protected Accounts

Videos from protected (private) accounts cannot be downloaded unless you follow that account and have access to view their tweets.

Multiple Videos in One Tweet

If a tweet contains multiple videos or images, you'll need to download each video separately by accessing them individually.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

"Tweet not found" or "Video unavailable"

The tweet may have been deleted, the account may be suspended, or the account is protected. Make sure the tweet is still accessible on X before attempting to download.

URL not recognized

Make sure you're copying the complete tweet URL. It should look like "https://x.com/username/status/..." or "https://twitter.com/username/status/...". Both formats work.

Lower quality than expected

X compresses videos when they're uploaded. The maximum quality available depends on the original upload. Most X videos are available in 720p or lower.

Embedded videos from other platforms

If a tweet contains a link to a YouTube, Vimeo, or other platform video (rather than a native X video), you'll need to download it from the original platform instead.
